
Kelly Clarkson, in full Kelly Brianne Clarkson, (born April 24, 1982, Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.), American artist, singer, and television personality who came to prominence as a pop-rock star after her win in the TV talent show American Idol in 2002. Clarkson was born at Burleson (Texas) and is an area close to Fort Worth. Her vocal ability was noticed at the age of seven years of age by the teacher who taught choir at her school. Upon finishing high school, Clarkson moved towards Los Angeles, where she was unsuccessful in her attempt to enter the show business. After returning home in Texas in 2002, she was a contestant for the Fox Broadcasting Company's American Idol. This singing competition gave viewers the chance to vote on their favorite performer. Clarkson's charismatic voice, personality and humor were instantly loved by the viewers. Clarkson was awarded $1 million and an agreement recording for RCA to be her reward.
