
Salma Hayek Pinault, born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jamesenez on September 2, 1966 is an American and Mexican actor and producer. In Mexico she started her professional career in the role of Teresa in the television show (1989-1991) as well as El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) in which she was nominated for an Ariel Award. She quickly made herself known in Hollywood by appearing in films such as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999). Hayek's portrayal of painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) which she also produced, made her the first Mexican actress to be nominated to the Academy Award for Best Actress[6In addition, she earned her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Later on, Hayek focused more on producing , and was also in the action-centered pictures Once Upon a Time in Mexico
